WorkshopIn connection with Den kulturelle skolesekken (DKS) The Munch Museum has for the last years arranged a printing workshop for pupils in 5th grade (age 10). The workshop has been led by a professional graphic artist. The children have been inspired by Munch’s lithographic stones, and they have produced their own intaglio prints in the Museum workshop, under the guidance of the workshop leader, with a convincing and admirable result.
In Autumn 2005 the Museum arranged a painting workshop led by a professional artist. In the spring of 2006 the printing workshop was arranged again.
The autumn 2006 the Museum arranged for the first time a printing workshop where the pupils this time made their own woodcuts (4th and 5th grade) and paintings (7th grade). This workshop was arranged in connection with the evolvement of a cultural educational programme that in the future will lead to a permanent offer to pupils on different levels. The aim is that every pupil during primary school will have visisted the museum three times and have got the chance to explore Munchs different techniques both painting, drawing and printmaking. The autumn 2007 theese workshops will continue with the two professional artists Victoria Fuhr and Trine Lindheim as workshop leaders.
From January to March 2008 the museum arranges again the painting workshop with the artist Trine Lindheim.
The printing workshop (mainly woodcut, but also intaglio techniques) have been held every year from 2006-2010.
