On the birthday of the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch, 12 December, every second year (2008, 2010 etc.) the City of Oslo grants a scholarship of NOK 50.000, to enable a scholar or a student to do research in the art of Edvard Munch, preferably in relation to a specific problem or with the object of extending knowledge of the artist. In return the recipient is to deliver a report to the City of Oslo by the end of the scholarship, and the Munch Museum should receive a copy of any publication (book, article, thesis etc.) that may appear as a result of the scholarship.
The Munch Museum will deal with the applications on behalf of the City of Oslo and hence the application, containing a presentation of the applicant and his/her project, should be forwarded to The Munch Museum, P.O. Box 2823 Tøyen, 0608 Oslo, Norway. No special application form is needed, but the language must be English, French or German and should be received before November 1. 2010.
