Opening Hours

1 September - 31 May:
Tuesday - Friday: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Saturday - Sunday: 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
Monday closed

1 June - 31 August:
Every day  from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

The museum is closed due to change of exhibition from 4 October 2010 to 7.10.2010 and from 10.01.2011 to 20.01.2011. The café and museum shop are open! Except monday.

Admission

Admission fees may be subject to change

NOK 75,- per person for adults
NOK 40,- for students, seniors (+67) and children over 7 years old
Children under 7:  Free entrance
Groups (minimum 10 persons): NOK 40,- per person

Free admission  for one child (7+) accompanied by a fully paying adult! 

Free admission with the "Oslo Pass"

Free admission from 1 October to 31 March

Practical information

Please do not touch the paintings or other objects on display. Photography and the use of film cameras are permitted for private use only. However, please note that the use of flash or tripods is not allowed, unless you have a written confirmation from the museum. (Flash is allowed at events in the lecture hall). Food and beverages, animals, umbrellas, knives, scissors or other sharp objects are not allowed in the exhibition.

Large bags, back-packs etc. must be placed in the lockers (NOK 10,-). Small bags and back-packs are allowed if carried by hand or on shoulder (not on back). The maximum allowed size for such items is approx. A4 (US: approx. 8½ x 11 inches).

Baby carriages and strollers are not allowed in the exhibition. Approved baby carriages and strollers (incl. strollers for twins) can be borrowed from the museum upon arrival. Luggage for babies and children are subject to the same restrictions as luggage for the general public (as mentioned above).

Luggage in wheel chairs is subject to the same restrictions as luggage for the general public (as mentioned above).

Cell phones must be turned off while in the exhibition.

 

Access

All eastbound metro trains from the city to Tøyen station.
Bus no. 20 to the Munch Museum.
Good parking facilities by the museum.
The museum is accessible for mobility impaired visitors.
